I knew this day would come!

After my 3 month long adventure of Wanda’s pregnancy, whelping and taking care of the puppies. I knew this dreaded day would come when I am already quite attached to my puppies, but I realize that I will have to let them go.We currently have 4 adult dogs (1 Golden Retriever, 2 Chihuahuas and A Jack Russel), plus 4 puppies who will be ready for their new homes in a few weeks…and so, I am posting this for the animal lovers out there who would like to acquire a fantastic golden retriever:

Quality Puppies for Sale!

By the last week of August, they will be ready for their new homes. :)

Dreaming of the “Luther Burger”

I know this may sound gross, but ever since I watched Adam Richman of Man vs. Food scarf down this incredibly heart clogging, brain damaging sandwich, did I begin to imagine how wonderful it could really taste!

photo from cheese-burger.net
Ah, sweet and savory! It’s one of the best and most interesting flavor combinations around! Mostly, you’d find this kind of combo in Asian cooking.

The Luther burger, is simply a cheese burger that uses a Krispy Kreme Sugar Glazed donut instead of a regular burger bun. Can you see this greasy thing shining? But can you imagine eating it? I totally KNOW it’s delicious! I just wish Chicago was just a few hours away so I can try the REAL thing! But of course, since it’s not, I will have to improvise. This story does not end here. I WILL MAKE AND EAT THIS BURGER. Screw health consciousness for a day!

Ham Project with Photokitchen

shooting at photokitchen

Finally, something to get me out of the office and the puppy nanny I’ve become. Months after our last email, I finally met Mylene Cheung of Photokitchen (which is conveniently located sooo near the school!) or LivingRoom Photography Studios, for a test shoot…and finally our actual shoot. I instantly had a great feeling about Photokitchen, I think this a place where I can actually exercise creative vision with a studio that wants to achieve the “look” I want to develop for myself.

i blurred it sorry

Photokitchen specializes in both food photography and production design. They get inspiration from one of my favorite food photog & blogger, Lara Ferroni, who has perpetuated this wonderful, shabby-chic french look. And they are actually younger than me which is great! The shoot was long but light, I totally loved working with Mye since we seem to have the same eye for stuff…even if the ham began to misbehave a little, which is something I expected since I felt so nice and comfy already, I just knew something was going to go wrong.

But alas, we have come up with great shots. Still, this won’t be out until maybe Christmas so I guess a blurred teaser would have to do for now. The shoot was fantastic, and I think the client was happy with the outcome! Hopefully their consumers will too. :)

I blurred the product pictures by the way. You will just have to wait till December :D

Another Night at Cafe Breton

nice date place
This is a place that reminds me of my grand-uncle. I absolutely love the ambiance and of course…the crepes!

Our post-light dinner become second dinner when we hit Cafe Breton. It always feels so cozy despite the number of people who come in and out of this place. It’s almost like being in a playhouse. And is a wonderful date and talk place.

This time, I decided to try their savory crepes. If you’ve been reading my previous crepe crazy blog…I usually order only one thing — butter and sugar crepe with a little cream. This time I wanted something rich…a real mouthful. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the Veal Sausage, Cheese, Tomato and Egg Crepe. Oh my, I kind of knew that the items in that thing was for breakfast…but since I hardly eat breakfast, I was ready for second dinner! This is the video of how it’s done!

Shrimp Crazy @ Bono-Yaki

Dazzled by their large sign up in C-5, I’ve been dreaming about trying out a new place to “Eat-All-You-Can”. I’m pretty tired of the usual slop that is served to me on most of those places where you don’t actually see the food being cooked, rather you just wait around till a good batch comes out and hope that person in front of you doesn’t get the part you’ve been eyeing. That’s when I thought of trying this place, Bono-Yaki. Mig and I enjoy these hot-pot grill places and so far, after the sights and smells…everything starts to smell and taste the same afterward.

inside bono-yaki

A good rating for these kinds of places (for me, atleast) are (I already put in the corresponding rate and notes for this place), this means completely forgetting the cooked stuff or the “fillers” so to speak: (1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest)

mig eating other stuff

1) Freshness of raw ingredients: 8…9 for the shrimp. So far, what I noticed about their raw stuff, I didn’t see anything frozen, or right out of the freezer. Things were displayed in small portions so the raw food didn’t dry up too fast. The sushi was really fresh and didn’t look like it was handled by 10 other people before getting to the display. The shrimp…tasted like it had just come right out of the sea (I wonder if it was a good day or they’re really going to serve shrimp like that as their standard).
